Louise McLeod RIP

Postby Fred » Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:44 pm

It is with great sadness that CKRC has lost a long time avid supporter of the club. Louise McLeod (mother of Senior Rotax driver Iain McLeod) passed away last Friday surrounded by her family and friends after losing her heroic battle against Cancer. Louise loved "The Boys" in the paddock and could always be seen around chatting and laughing with everyone she met! Many of us enjoyed her love and friendship and of course those cup cakes and she will be very much missed by all that knew her. In line with her wishes she wanted her life to be celerbrated and not to be dweled upon with negativity so to that request Rod has asked me to extend to all members the invitation to come and celebrate Louises life this Friday at precisely 2pm - at the McInnis & Holloway Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road SE Calgary).
Following the service, those who wish - are encouraged to make their way over to the Riverbend Guest House - located at 247 Riverside Close SE T2C 3L4......where some fine Italian dainties, tea, coffee, fine single malt scotch (along with tradition libations) will be served. Tartan will be the colour of the day.

Given the pervasive nature of cancer and how it snatched Louise from our lives, the McLeod family would appreciate donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the The Alberta Cancer Centre <https://albertacancer.ca>

The more we can do to beat this nasty disease, the better!

If you would like to attend please please do !! if you intend to attend the celebrations afterwards please drop me an e mail so I can pass the numbers on to Rod .

RIP Louise x x x

It is never easy losing someone. LaRee, Gerald and I would like to extend our condolences to the Mcleod family.
I only knew Louise from the kart track and it was always a pleasure to see and share a laugh with her in the paddock. In my long history of racing, I don't remember anyone else bringing baking to the track. Her spirit will be missed.

Sincerely,

John K
