Just what you needed, another racing hobby

Post by John Kwong »

Hi All,

As some of you might know, I race on-road RC cars in the winter. There are several other karters that also do this and there was an influx of RC guys that bought karts this past season. Because of this, the two seasons compliment each other nicely. We currently have a great permanent facility at the Calgary Horseshoe Club in the Foothills Industrial area near Glenmore Trail and Barlow Trail South. We race every Friday night with T&T's on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. As well, we race other cars that are more beginner friendly every second Sunday. These are Tamiya based cars and are more of a spec based type race car like the Briggs classes. All ages are welcome and the atmosphere is much like the CKRC paddock with many members willing to lend a hand to learn the ropes. Here is a video of some of the action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf1jqAhIslE
FYI - Even we refer to this as racing toy cars but the racing is fun and the technology of the cars is quite impressive.
