It looks as though our summer plans have changed, & we may now be able to make it. If we are around, I will see if Alan is willing/ able to help with some driver coaching. I will probably take a day or two off to be there as well.

I have also spoken with Allen Berg, & he is interested in coming out as well, if it will fit in his schedule. I am sure some of the kids would enjoy listening to a F1 driver for a few minutes.

I was wondering if it would make sense to try to offer a J1 / J2 try a kart day sometime in that week as well, or would that take away too much time? We could maybe even limit it to one or two classes of six, wich would take one hour / class of track time. Just thinking it might be a good way for kids to see other kids having fun.

Hi Everyone,

It looks like we will have between 10-14 JR drivers out for the camp. It should make for a lot of fun for all the drivers. I thought I would propose a Schedule for the 4 days. Let me know what everyone thinks. We will have Fred out for a couple days, and hopefully Alan Berg will come as Phil mentioned earlier. I feel a schedule will help keep things organized and provide the kids with a better experience. Maybe keep us on track too!

Each Day:
9:00 Open Facility
9:30 - 10:30 Class room Session / Track Walk
10:45 - 12:00 On Track Session
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
12:45 - 1:30 Games and Contests to keep things fun!!
1:45 - 3:30 On Track Session
3:30 - 4:00 End of Day Group chat and clean up

If everyone agree's, we could do a Pizza lunch on either the first or last day. We could use some of the excess sponsorship money collected for this so we could provide the food for free!

HI Rocki,

No cost to participate. You need to look after your own kids and karts though.

With respect to training, Fred has agreed to spend a couple days with the kids(which I'm hoping is Monday and Tuesday), and Alan Berg has offered to come out and speak with the kids over a lunch, and possibly pass along a few tips and tricks as well. Aside from that, we will do some track walks, use some pylons to help with lines, braking points and turn in points and try to get everyone comfortable with Race Starts and so on.

Hi everyone,

We will run the 4 days rain or shine!! After our day today, it might be fun to do some rain/wet track practice. We can never have enough experience in all aspects of driving. for those who may not have rain tires, we will find other things to do.

The key is going to be having fun, learning a lot, and getting everyone under the 1 minute threshold. If we can accomplish at least 2 of the 3 things, I think we will consider it a success. If we can do all 3, we will of had an awesome time at the track.
