Hi everyone. My sons Justin and Jordan would like to join as much as possible. We need to do a shake down on their Karts but this sounds like a perfect opportunity! Well Done!
See you a little later tomorrow morning.

Hi Jeff,

We had 18 kids out today, and more are always welcome!!! We had a really great day today, and made some really great progress with many of them. Many parents around to help go over karts and pass along some helpful tips and tricks, as well as lending a hand to help fix anything that needs adjusting.

Look forward to seeing you there!!

That is great Casey! Wow, lots of kids. I just found out of a Dentist appointment for my boys at 1:30 which means we have timing issues. We may have to get there later Tuesday or spend the day Wednesday. My boys haven't been out yet and are looking for some personal bests so this ought to be fun!
See you soon.

We had another great day at the track today!! Two days of rain in the forecast and barely a drop has been seen!!! We had another 17 kids at the track today and I think everyone had a great day, parents included. These days are really helping the kids build confidence, find more speed and get a tonne of extra seat time and experience. I think we will have a few new racers at the next club race, and those that are already racing will be even more competitive than before!

The time at the track has also provided a lot of time for both parents and grand parents to watch their kids, meet some other parents and build some great relationships in a non competitive environment. I have seen more people helping other people over the past 2 days then I ever thought possible!!

Thanks to everyone who has been helping make this such a success and I hope it can be used as a template for other events in the future!!

Casey:

You are doing a great job! Thank you very much!! One of my kids is gaining confidence for his races and is learning quite a bit at the same time. My other son is still sure he won't race but his times are approaching the minimum speed and that alone has generated some excitement in him. I have seen a huge improvement in the confidence of all of the kids and I think that the next Jr. 1 race will be much different.

I also echo your comment about the parents - this is a great group of parents (and kids). As someone new into all of this, I am learning a tremendous amount on the technical side and am very grateful at the advice/help that is so freely given.

I do hope that this is continued as the benefit to the kids is immeasurable. I support future camps.

WOW!! What a fabulous camp this was for everyone!! After 4 days of non-stop driving and help from more experienced drivers, coaches and extra help from Fred, the next race will be a good one!! The new kids learned so much and gained not only time but confidence, while the older ones got valuable seat time and extra experience. All this while having lots of FUN!! What a great group of kids and parents!! I never thought I would be my son's pit crew but with all the help I received this week it turned out to be fun!! I learned a lot too!! Thanks to Casey for all his time and hard work!! It was very much appreciated!!! Thanks to Fred as well for coming out today and spending time with the kids. His comments will be embedded in their little heads for a LONG TIME!! and thanks to all the Dads who helped me out with lifting the kart, loosening bolts, shutting my trailer door and chasing the "critters" out of my trailer!! It was a great week!! I sincerely hope that this camp continues next year!!

I want to send a big thank you to all the drivers and parents who participated in our JR karting test and tune this week. I think everyone had a great time and a lot of new friends were made by both the kids and parents. I hope our drivers learned a lot, as I know I did. It seems like most were able to find a significant amount of time on the track in both directions which will make our next club race even more interesting!!

After talking with everyone, I think we will have 5 or 6 new racers at our next club race, which will only make for better racing and more excitement for all.

I also want to thank everyone for the cards I received yesterday and the support from all the parents. It was a really great way to end the camp!!! I may have been the person standing out front, but without all of you, this would not have been as big of a success as it was!! My focus was on the kids, but I think we are all walking away from this with some new friends and a better understanding of karting in general. The kids are the future of our club, so if we all put forth the effort, we will only get bigger and stronger moving forward!!

Thanks again!!

Casey.

This was an awesome event. Huge thanks to Casey for putting this together and Fred for his time walking the track and instructing the kids. And of course all the parents who all helped big time in one way or another.

I think both the kids and parents have started some strong lifelong relationships out of this. We should do this every week (lol) ... Seriously though, a 2 or 3 day session like this at the beginning of the season might also be valuable for the young drivers to get into the groove with each other. A pre-season no-points race might also be interesting.

What I think was most valuable was the pilots getting to know each others' driving styles and gaining comfort driving together without the stress of race-day. I saw many instances where pilots were trading positions and driving clean. This will make for some very interesting races going forward.

The biggest thing I saw everyone walk away with was loads of CONFIDENCE. This is imho THE most important thing to have as a Racing Pilot.

I got some great shots and will publish a photobucket album shortly.

Although my kids hit their personal best, they didn't quite make it to their goal for the week, until about 1 hour later during T&T. I replaced the seat and adjusted it for better comfort and 2 seconds came off!

Again, awesome week, great fun, hope we do it again...

I agree with Casey and Tom.

I had to leave in a pretty big hurry last night due to a family emergency but I think the smiles on all faces told the week's story the best. As Tom said, the relationships formed will make for a much friendlier pit area (if that is possible).

I think that the work that Casey and Fred did is something that must be built on and developed into an annual event. I know of other kids that would love the opportunity and with advertising and promotion, the club could generate more interest for members as well as increasing the race grids.

Casey and Fred did an excellent job. I believe that this week is a huge success.

To all who participated at kart camp last week.

I just want to say how grateful Tyler & I are to Casey, Sam, Scott & Fred who helped me what seemed hourly with mechanical issues. As our family is still relatively new at this, & we still have a huge learning curve ahead of us, the help you provided was incredible. With the support and patience from you all, we are slowly but surely getting the hang of things. Events like this not only teach our kids, but some parents as well.
Tyler & I left everyday with a smile, and are so proud to be part of this club. To see such healthy competition between the kids, and no backbiting or hard feelings, it makes a world of difference to better themselves. You dont see sportsman-ship like this is any other league. You all deserve a pat on the back, especially you Dylan, because Tyler hears every word you say.

Again, this has been such a great great experience, and we look forward to the next one.

On a side note, if anyone knows how Kyle made out after his accident, let me know. Ive been thinking about him.
