Casey:

my two boys would be participating. I had planned on taking a few days off with them anyway to get them some extra track time on my own, so I can be available to help out. I would ask that we pick a week as soon as possible as I have child care and holidays lined up and if I need to change them - sooner the better.

Participation has to be with the understanding that it is informal because there are many things to do. If I am there with my boys, then I am basically parenting them - which relieves the club of any liability (in terms of child care issues) - in my opinion. If someone is leaving their kids at the track, then it would be like leaving them with a friend.

I know my sister works with kids (social work degree) and might be able to either help in some way - if anyone thinks there is value in it.

Hi Everyone,

I guess if we are going to move from talking about this, to actually doing it, we need to set a date!! I spoke with Fred this morning and he suggested we pick quickly, as the calendar is starting to fill up!!

I would like to propose holding an "Unofficial JR class T&T training week" July 16 - 19 (4 days) from 9:00am - 4:00pm. We can open this up to all JR class racers. JR1, JR2, Plus all JR Rotax classes.

Parents will be responsible for looking after their own children and maintaining their own karts. This will be run like a T&T session to avoid any issues relating to Insurance or City By-laws about "Camps".

I will post in other forum's to gauge interest from the other groups. Again, please let me know if you are interested.

I am in for both my boys. What would be the cost?

Hi Sam,

No Cost for this. Since you are bringing your own kids and looking after them, we are really only running a Test and Tune Session each day. If the dates work, I will ask Fred to post it on the calendar. As a T&T, if others showed up, we would have to share the track; though I would hope they would understand our intentions and let us be as much as possible. I know Fred is at the track a lot through the week, so I'm sure if we asked really nice he would be willing to spend some time working with the kids if he has time.

Even though this would be a T&T, we can spend the time working with the kids and structuring things as much as we want to make it fun and enjoyable.
