Kart Racing Pro Sim CKRC Track Update free but not fully finished

Post by ChrisRose »

UPdate: Nov 8th Good News Bad news

I'll start with the bad news. The graphics designer that I hired to remake the map is not going to be able to finish it due to unforeseen circumstances. Which really sucks and I currently don't have the time to find a replacement right now but maybe in the future.

Good news. He's agree to make the maps completely free and moldable by Nov 22 as he is out of town doing enduro racing. He has created both versions going CW and CCW available and functional but some of the curbs aren't completely smoothed out and there are no buildings.

He was able to give me a copy of the free version earlier so here it is:

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to the club and absolutely loving it so far. This is one of the most welcoming communities I’ve ever been part of, so thank you for making me feel at home.

I’ve been working with a graphic artist (also a karter) to bring the CRKC track into Kart Racing Pro. I chose this sim because it’s realistic, has an active modding community, and is affordable—you can grab it on Steam for about $50:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4156 ... Racing_Pro

This is what one of his complete tracks looks like:

The artist is charging $18 for ongoing access to the track.
To purchase, contact him on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ty_53b?igsh=azhkMzBtZW1idnh3

(He goes by Ty or Reality2Sim). Please remember hes in Australia

You’ll need your Kart Racing Pro GUID:
Main menu → bottom left “Profiles” → press the + button next to GUID.

Here’s the current build of the Calgary (CRKC) track:

How to install:
Download the .pkz file via the link above.
Place it in:
Documents\PiBoSo\Kart Racing Pro\mods\tracks

If the tracks folder doesn’t exist, just create it manually.

Engine Mods
Here are two engine/chassis mods I’ve tested and confirmed working with the track:

LO206 – Cadet chassis → https://simkartmodding.freeforums.net/t ... -skm-lo206
Rotax – Senior chassis → https://simkartmodding.freeforums.net/t ... evo-senior

There are lots of other mods out there, but these stood out as the most useful for our setup.
Accessing the Track
All engine mods are free.

System & Gear

The sim runs smoothly on older PCs—I’m using an 8-year-old system with a GTX 970 Ti. For an affordable wheel and pedal setup, this $100 option on Amazon works great:

Modding Community

More mods (and eventually this track when it’s fully released) can be found here:

Oh the timer only works CW as that's the current direction but there will be version with both directions

I was hoping to see what difference it made for myself but I got sick on Tuesday and couldn't make it but I'll be there next Tuesday to see and I'll post before and after shots from my Alfano

I also wanted to add once Reality2Sim has released the track on https://simkartmodding.freeforums.net
I will update the post to include that.

The above file I linked is just his quick demo version so it could be raced on it asap :P

Even though a demo the file still needs to be unlocked by Reality2Sim and can be contacted here

If anyone has any questions at all feel free to reach out as well

Wow this is super cool!!!!
A great way to keep driving the track over winter!
Is there any chance this is supported on PlayStation? or is it strictly PC and Xbox?
Cheers

Chris, this is awesome! I have a rig in my basement and I purchased KRP a while ago. I actually got a copy of the Wanneroo track from someone in Australia, and thought of using it's mirror image and building from that, since Wanneroo is a mirror of CKRC. This will save a ton of time. Any update on the progress of the track? I have never raced in Strathmore, just bought my kart so I am sure this will help me a lot.

EDIT: Just realized the original artist could not continue with the project, perhaps I should read next time :-) If the link at the top includes the latest version, I can see if I can get someone involved in making some progress.
