The only rules that are vaguely applicable are the Honda ASN rules. I have built my motor to mimick these rules. There are some variations between the clone and the honda such as the valve caps and larger carburator on the clone but for now neither Dan or I have made any real modifications. The Edmonton club has chosen to run what they call an outlaw 4 stroke class.

Well, I have raced the C200 several times now and the fun continues. I can get into the high 56's occasionally and the C200 is a midpack runner in a field of B&S Animals. The only modification lately has been to shave more off the ignition key to advance the ignition. I am about halfway across the key now.

At the last race, I had a good battle in each race which was a ton of fun.

Mods:

Removed governor, low oil sensor, stock throttle assembly, stock gas tank and stock air filter
Advanced timing by cutting flywheel key
Added GX140 emulsion tube to richen bottom end response
Added G200 valve springs for higher rpm
Carburator:
Drill out jet using Index Drill bit set (Princess Auto $11.99)
Drill out idle jet to richen bottom end

If you need help doing any of these tasks, I don't mind helping out

In BC we have had this set of rules for 3 years now. http://bckca.bc.ca/PDF/BCKCA_2010-Book2.pdf See pages 4-6. These are similar to the ASN Honda rules but more restrictive to keep costs down. Some of the cost saving features include, spec low cost clutch, spec tires, stock emulsion tube only, no overbores, and chamber volume close to stock so decking not required to be competetive.

I would hope that a common set of rules can be adopted throughout Canada, Ideally having them based at ASN. So far ASN has not shown any interest. Any changes to these rules should consider that lower cost for the racer is better and more cost is not acceptable. I think the ASN Honda rules have not kept to this criteria.

The other C200 engine that I built for the Boddy's ran the annual 3 hour enduro last weekend. It was fielded by a 4 driver team with 3 rookies and one experienced driver. It survived the entire race with no failures to the engine or kart chassis. It now has a nicely seasoned motor with about the same amount of time on it as mine after 6 races and a few T&T's.
